The Welsh Rugby Union has committed to support the Disaster Emergency Committee (DEC) Cymru Philippines Crisis Appeal with a bucket collection at the gates of the Millennium Stadium.
Before the second of four Dove Men Series matches kicks off at 2.30pm, rugby fans can show their support by donating cash to the official bucket collectors around the stadium.
All monies raised will go to the DEC to support those affected by the typhoon by providing essential water, food and shelter at this crucial time.
Roger Lewis, WRU Group Chief Executive, said, “The WRU are pleased to support the Philippines typhoon relief operation by offering the bucket collection at the Argentina match to the DEC Cymru Philippines Crisis Appeal.
“As vital relief work continues overseas this is an extremely important appeal and I’d urge fans to give generously to the funds that will provide the necessary food, water and shelter for those affected.”
He added: “When the Welsh rugby family unite as one tomorrow afternoon at the Millennium Stadium, the people affected by the disaster will be firmly in our thoughts.”
Julian Rosser, Chair of DEC Cymru, said, “We are delighted that the WRU are supporting the DEC Philippines Typhoon Appeal. The people of Wales have always given generously to DEC appeals in the past and this week is no exception with a total of £490,000 already raised in Wales. But with 11 million people in great need in the Philippines at this time they face a number of hardships. We need to get aid to them as quickly and effectively as we can. We can only do this with your help through donations. Please give what you can to help those who have lost everything to this Typhoon.”

In 2005 the WRU hosted a concert at the Millennium Stadium to raise funds for victims of the Tsunami which struck Thailand and South East Asia.
