Beck comes into the centre alongside Owen Williams for the clash with the South Sea Islanders having featured as a replacement against South Africa and Argentina in the last fortnight.
Head coach Warren Gatland has seen his midfield options dwindle in the past few weeks, Jonathan Davies, Cory Allen and Scott Williams all suffering injuries. Jamie Roberts was ruled out of the Dove Men Series before its start.
With a short turnaround following the win over Argentina, Gatland has made 11 changes to his side for Friday’s encounter.
Ian Evans, Luke Charteris, Andrew Coombs and Ryan Jones all come into the pack. In the backs, Hallam Amos makes his international debut on the wing while Leigh Halfpenny and George North remain in the back three. Lloyd Williams and James Hook combine at half back.
“You always want to play and hopefully this week I’ll get a full 80 minutes under my belt,” said Ospreys man Beck.
“A few of the boys have picked up some knocks and it’s unfortunate but it’s a hard hitting game. It’s something you have to get used to and it does mean other boys get a chance.
“It’s another chance for me – I’m just enjoying it and taking each game as it comes at the minute.”
Beck and Owen Williams haven’t played together at full international level but struck up an understanding while together at Neath College. Both have also played at Wales Under 20 level with Beck ready to implement an open, attacking game from inside centre.
“The Islanders do hit hard and it’s just something you have to put up with,” said the Aberavon product.
“But we’ll go out and give it a go as we did last weekend and hopefully it will be a spectacle where people enjoy it.
“Every time you go out there you want to score tries, you don’t want to just leave it to penalties. We all enjoy an open, expansive game.
“Tonga had a good win against France at the last World Cup so you can’t underestimate a team like that. People tend to write them off but as a squad, we haven’t done that.
“You can potentially slip up if you look a week ahead but there are a few boys here who haven’t played much rugby in the last few weeks. It’s a good opportunity to go out there and stake a claim.”
