It was The Drovers’ Jake Randall who scored the first try 16 minutes into the game, but a yellow card to Llandovery’s Bryn Griffiths and a well placed penalty brought the score to 5-3. A further penalty from Neath’s David Langdon made the score 6-5 to the Welsh All Blacks as the whistle sounded.
But The Drovers kept their cool and gained the upper hand in the second half, with Rich Brooks securing a try that was promptly converted by the boot of his brother Ian, putting Llandovery ahead 12-6.
The Welsh All Blacks were reduced down to 14 shortly afterwards, with Arran Pincher handed a yellow and The Drovers’ Ian Brooks hitting home the penalty. A try from Sam Soul secured The Drovers’ lead, bringing the score to 20-11.
But The Welsh All Blacks weren’t ready to give up quite yet, with a late try in the dying moments of the game making the final score 20-11.
