Wales’ win over Scotland on Saturday set a whole host of records as Warren Gatland’s men ended their RBS 6 Nations on a high.

The 2012 and 2013 tournament winners ran out 51-3 victors on the final day of the Championship, scoring seven tries and stopping the Scots from crossing their whitewash in the process.

Perhaps fittingly, Saturday’s success came on the day that the Millennium Stadium played host to its 100th Wales Test since the venue was officially opened with a 29-19 win over South Africa back in June 1999.

Here’s a look at the stats that tumbled in the tournament finale as this current crop of Wales stars went about writing their own chapter in the history books…

Most Tries in a match – 7, previous best was 6 v Italy in 2004 and 2005 and Scotland in 2005

V SCOTLAND

Most Points in a match – 51, previous best was 46 in 2005

Biggest winning margin – 48, previous best was 25 in 1924

Most tries in the 6 Nations – 7, previous best was 6 in 2005 but Wales scored 8 in 1911

It was Scotland’s heaviest defeat in 6 Nations history, both in terms of points conceded and margin of defeat.

Their previous worsts were 46 points conceded v Wales in 2005 and France in 2007 and a 40-point margin v England in 2001 (43-3).

Saturday’s victory was Wales’ seventh in a row against Scotland and their 11th in their last 12 games against them. Wales last lost to the Scots at Murrayfield in 2007.
