He says the three games next Sunday will provide memorable experiences for everyone involved from all six of the competing teams and their communities.
The President said the SWALEC Cup is one of Welsh club rugby’s most prestigious knock-out tournaments and while holders Pontypridd will be looking to retain the title Cross keys will be determined to win back the trophy they won in 2012.
On Sunday at the Millennium Stadium there will be three live games of rugby union showcasing the best of Welsh rugby from the community game through to the professional teams in the Premiership Division.
Before Pontypridd and Cross Keys clash for the Cup, Merthyr will take on Rhiwbina in the Plate final and Clwb Rugby Cymry Caerdydd will compete with Llantwit Major for the Bowl.
The three game format has now become a regular event in the sporting calendar when fans from six teams sit side by side to cheer on their teams.
Mr Gethin said: “This is the showpiece day for our clubs and a celebration of Welsh club rugby.
“My hearty congratulations to Cross Keys, Pontypridd, Merthyr, Rhiwbina, Clwb Rygbi Cymry Caerdydd and Llantwit Major on winning their places at what will be a marvellous and memorable day out for the players, coaches and fans of the six clubs.
”The 2014 SWALEC Cup, SWALEC Plate and SWALEC Bowl will be won and proudly paraded at the home of Welsh rugby.”
The SWALEC Bowl Final kicks off proceedings with Clwb Rygbi Cymry Caerdydd taking on Llantwit Major at 1pm.
Merthyr, who beat former finalists Glynneath 66-10 In the semi-final, take on another Cardiff club Rhiwbina at 3.15pm in the SWALEC Plate Final before the highlight of the day with SWALEC Cup champions Pontypridd facing 2012 winners Cross Keys at 5.25pm.
There will be a whole host of activities on offer for all the family, from face painting, balloon artists, a circus school and mask making. There will be a Scorch Zone around the Gate 3 entrance and an opportunity to meet a Wales international player.
Tickets for the day are £10 for adults, £5 for Under 16s and £20 for a family of four.
