Wales Dragons A and B girls Under 18’s squads will be heading to Manchester between September 4-7 with former Wales Sevens star Richie Pugh heading up the programme with assistance from Daryl Morgan and Gwesyn Price Jones.

The selection process will be held over three weeks where trials are open to anyone eligible to play Under 18’s girls rugby this season (i.e: Under 19 years of age on the 1st of September 2014). All the trials will be held on the 3G pitch at the WRU’s Vale of Glamorgan base in Hensol.

The Open Trial Dates are:

Monday 2nd June 2014 meet at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
Monday 9th June 2014 meet at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
Monday 16th June 2014 meet at 6.30pm for a 7pm start. (The final squads will be announced after this date).

In addition to the above dates there will be a Talent Identification Session held in North Wales (Venue TBC) on Wednesday 28th June 2014. This session will be open to any players who fulfil the selection criteria.

The UK School games offer a unique opportunity for players to represent their country in a national competition, and can be the pathway for a player to go on to represent Wales in a full international. Three of last year’s UKSG squad – Robyn Wilkins, Hannah Jones and Elli Norkett – were selected for the full Wales Six Nations squad, after impressing in the 2013 tournament.
