Baker will feature for the Possibles side at the Liberty Stadium and the opportunity to go head-to-head against the Probables is one he wants to grab with both hands.
“It’s a huge opportunity, not only for me but for everyone involved,” said the 21-year-old.
“It’s something different but it’s a huge chance especially for the guys in the Possibles.
“It’s a chance to prove yourself up against the Probables and that opportunity doesn’t come round very often.
“There is a balance needed.  Everyone wants to perform well and put their hand up in front of the coaching staff, but to stand out you need the team to be performing.
“It’s a team effort to impress and it’s important we play well as a team. Working together will be vital.
“On paper though it’s a great opportunity to go up against your opposite number and try and get a place on the tour.
“I played in some regional trials when I was younger, U16 and U18 at the Ospreys I think it was, but this is a bit different. It’s huge!
“The public have got right behind the match and it will be great to have a big crowd there. That adds pressure itself.
“The Liberty is a great stadium and special to me, so it will be great to be playing the trial there.”
Baker made his international debut on Wales’ tour to Japan last summer and whilst the start of the 2013/14 season was curtailed by injury, a run of games at the end of the season has ticked a lot of boxes for the powerful back rower.
“After coming back from Japan, my aim was to prove myself with the Ospreys and get as much game time as possible,” he said.
“I had a shoulder injury early on in the season which impacted that but I came back and played a good run of games, 13/14 I think it was.
“Those games ticked a lot of boxes, of course I would have liked to have played more if it wasn’t for the injury but I’m still happy with the season looking back.
“I’m reasonably happy with my performances, I always want to do more and improve and there is never really an end point to that.”

Tickets for Friday’s Wales Senior Trial are priced at £5 for adults and £1 for under 16’s and can be purchased from the Liberty Stadium website
