The Millennium Stadium will host eight games including two of Wales’ pool matches and two quarter-finals and rugby communities across Wales can act now to book their seats for the 2015 Tournament in Cardiff.
Tickets will go on sale to Welsh rugby clubs in June for games at the Millennium Stadium as part of the wider RWC 2015 Rugby Community Ticket programme, which will see 500,000 tickets go on sale to loyal rugby fans through clubs in England and Wales.
The ticketing programme, which was launched by tournament organisers England Rugby 2015 to mark ‘500 days to go until RWC 2015’ earlier this month, aims to recognise and reward loyal rugby fans with the opportunity to register their interest for tickets.
Members of WRU Clubs have until 12 June, 2014 to register via the Rugby World Cup 2015 ticketing website.
All those registered will have the opportunity to purchase up to four tickets per match per person on a first come first served basis.
Following the Rugby Community Ticket programme, general sale for all 48 games including knock-outs and the final will be from 12 September, 2014.
WRU Chairman David Pickering, who is on the board of Rugby World Cup Ltd, wants all Welsh rugby fans to get involved when the Tournament comes to the principality for the fourth time in 2015 – more times than any other country in the world.
“Our rugby communities are guaranteed to be at the heart of the action when Rugby World Cup 2015 brings eight games to our 74,500-seater stadium with the launch of the Rugby Community Ticket programme in Wales,” said the Chairman.
“Our message to the fans is to contact their local rugby club now to find out how they can get ahead of the game, with access to 2015 Tournament tickets before general sale on 12 September, 2014.
“By joining a local rugby club, rugby fans can also get direct access to tickets all Wales’ international matches at the Millennium Stadium, instead of turning to ticket touts and being left disappointed.”
