New skipper Lee Byrne led out the side and had fellow new recruits Andy Powell, Aled Brew and Boris Stankovich alongside him. Tries from Jason Tovey and Rynard Landman helped he visitors lead 20-12 at the interval and Cory Hill and Owen Evans added further touchdowns in the second half.
Cardiff Blues new head coach Mark Hammett saw his side go down 24-17 to Exeter Chiefs at the BT Sport Cardiff Arms Park on Friday night. Three first-half tries from the visitors saw them jump into a 24-7 lead before the Blues launched a spirited second half revival.
Newcomer George Watkins showed his pace to score the opening try for the home side and after the break there were further scores from Chris Dicomidis and Ellis Jenkins. The Blues meet Leicester Tigers at Welford Road on Friday, 29 August in their final warm-up game before the Guinness PRO12 season kicks-off.
The Ospreys conceded a try after only 13 seconds in their 23-6 defeat at the home of English Championship side Worcester Warriors and never really recovered. The Warriors ran in two more tries, while the only points for the Welsh region came from the boot of outside half Sam Davies.
The Scarlets welcomed back Wales centre Scott Williams for his first game in six months in their 26-26 draw at Bath. Both sides scored four tries, with Williams marking his return with one of them for the visitors.
It was a first outing for new head coach Wayne Pivac and he would have been delighted to see Regan King slot back into the midfield so easily after returning to the club from Clermont Auvergne. King helped Williams grab his try in the second half after the Scarlets’ had changed ends 12-7 in arrears.
Rob McCusker scored a first-half try on his return from injury and the others came from James Davies and Aled Davies.
