The Dragons A team have been drawn in Pool A alongside London and South East England, England Midlands and Scotland while Dragons B tangle with South West England, North England and Ireland.

Winger Elli Norkett will spearhead the attack alongside fly half Hannah Jones. The duo played prominent roles in last season’s success and were fast tracked into the Wales Six Nations squad while Jasmine Joyce Alisha Butchers make welcome returns as well.

Dragons A Team Manager Daryl Morgan, said: “We’re really pleased with the way the girls have trained and developed over the past eight weeks. The team is really well balanced with a great mix of youth and experience.

“There are some players who this time last year hadn’t picked up a rugby ball, but their progress has been quite outstanding, and on the other side of the coin we’ve still got players like Elli Norkett who has just come back from the Womens World Cup in France, Hannah Jones and one of the stars of last year’s tournament, Jasmine Joyce.

“It’s going to be a really tough tournament with South West England and especially Ireland bringing really strong teams, but with the balance of the team along with  the attitude and focus the girls have shown in training we are confident of being really competitive once again and will mount a strong defence of the title we won in Sheffield last year.”
