The Ospreys loose-head picked up the problem whilst on Six Nations duty and has not played since February.
The 25-year-old suffered a setback in his recovery and could miss Wales’ home clashes against New Zealand, South Africa, Australia and Fiji.

The 13-cap international is expected to be back in training before the end of November.Ospreys Medical Performance Manager Chris Towers said: “After Ryan suffered a setback in his recovery we have sought opinion from some of the leading specialists in this field from across the UK.
“In consultation with Ryan, we have agreed that the best option for him was this surgery to correct the problem. An optimistic scenario would see him returning to training at the end of November.”

The front-rower from Bridgend made his Wales bow against the Barabarians back in 2011 and went on to win a place in Warren Gatland’s 2011 Rugby World Cup squad. His next eight caps all came from the replacements’ bench, but he won a starting berth for the 22-18 win over Japan in Osaka in June 2013.
Bevington is just three appearances short of becoming an Ospreys centurion having already accumulated 97 Ospreys appearances at the age of 25.
