Neath had raced into an early 15-0 lead thanks to tries from Ryan Evans and Luke Price. But the Steelmen hit back with tries from Dan Haymond and Ronny Kynes to bring themselves back into the contest before the break.

A tight fixture then exploded into life in the final few minutes when first the visitors were awarded a penalty try, before Kynes wrapped up a bonus point with a try in injury time. Iain Smerdon kicked three conversions and a penalty in the win with Price kicking two penalties and a conversion for Neath for a personal haul of 13 points.

George Watkins continued his blistering start for Cardiff as they beat Llanelli 27-15 at Cardiff Arms Park. Watkins, who joined the Blues from Bristol in the summer, scored a try in each half to take his total to five in two games.

Cardiff secured a bonus point with Watkins’ two tries, a penalty try and a Tom Slater touchdown on a day the team paid its respects to former Welsh international stalwart CD ‘Derek’ Williams, who died at the weekend .
Dean Gunter kicked two conversions and a penalty for the home side, while Steffan Evans and Frazier Climo touched down for the visitors. Climo also added a conversion and a penalty.

Bedwas came out on top 29-25 in their local derby at Cross Keys, but the visitors left it late. Despite trailing by 16 points after 41 minutes, Bedwas somehow hauled themselves back to lead 23-22 just 26 minutes later.

Then replacement James Leadbeater kicked Keys in front again only for Bedwas fly half Richard Powell to land two penalties and take his side to an unlikely victory. Wing Paolo Uhi, full-back James Cordy-Redden and wing Nathan Trowbridge scored tries for the Keys with Rhys Jones converting two and kicking a penalty.

For Bedwas, Powell missed two early penalties but then kicked five and two conversions, including one after his own solo try, to notch 24 points on the day.

Carmarthen Quins scored five tries for a 32-19 bonus point win against Bridgend at the Brewery Field. Dan and
Dion Jones, Dylan Morgans (2) and Haydn Pugh all crossed with Dan Jones kicking a penalty and a conversion and Pugh also adding a conversion.

Ross Jones kicked four penalties and a conversion for the home side with Ashleigh James getting their only try.
Kristian Phillips and Shaun Miles scored in Llandovery’s 13-10 victory over Aberavon, with Steff Andrews getting the visitor’s try, while on Friday night the champions Pontypridd won at Newport, scoring four tries in a 34-12 victory.

Dan Godfrey grabbed a brace of tries and there were also scores for Owen Sheppeard and Gary Williams. Outside half Simon Humberstone kicked two penalties and all four conversions.
