Elsewhere, Craig Everette was the star of the show for Merthyr, scoring a 20-minute hat-trick before being forced off with a head injury as they beat Blackwood 45-12. The Ironmen remain 3 points behind Swansea, who travelled to Llanharan and won 18-7, with Andrew Claypole among the try scorers.
Two points behind them in fourth-place are Narberth, who won their fifth match in a row as they beat Glynneath 30-21.
RGC1404 were also the big winners of the day as they moved up to seventh with a comprehensive 43-8 win over Bridgend Athletic, who suffered their third consecutive defeat. Their next match sees them face top of the table Bargoed.
Bottom place Newbridge’s poor season continued as they narrowly lost 29-26 at Pontypool, with Dan Haile, Clayton Gullis and Aaron Quick going over for the home side. Gullis also added four penalties and a conversion.
Tondu’s woes also continued as they suffered their eighth straight defeat at home to Cardiff Met, as Connor Nicholl grabbed 2 tries for the away side. After losing out in this end to end game, they remain level on points with Llanharan, three points above Newbridge.
