Despite only trailing 6-10 at the halfway mark, the home side were unable to claw back the deficit as Bridgend extended their lead to 10 points by the end of the game. A try and a kicked penalty for James Dixon helped the Ravens win 13-23 in cold conditions at Rodney Parade.

At the other end of the table, Richard Powell scored 23 points as fourth-placed Bedwas came out on top against a weakened Carmarthen Quins side who sit just one place above them.

A brace from the Quins’ Dion Jones and a try from Ian Jones weren’t enough to stop Bedwas coming away with a bonus point as they scored four tries and won 22-35 at Carmarthen Park.

Neath’s troubles deepen as they fall into a relegation battle with Newport after a loss against Llanelli at home.
Tries from Shaun Leonard and Richie Thomas helped Llanelli see off Neath in a tense affair at The Gnoll.

Pontypridd vs Aberavon was postponed, as was Cardiff vs Llandovery.
