Samson Lee is relishing his return to the Wales front-row and has predicted a fierce upfront battle in Paris on Saturday evening.

The 22-year-old missed Wales’ victory against Scotland through injury but returns to wear the number three jersey this weekend.

Whilst admitting his frustration at missing round two of the RBS 6 Nations, Lee outlined his desire to impress.

“I’m really looking forward to Saturday,” said the Scarlets tight-head.

“I was really disappointed not to be involved against Scotland, its hard to sit out through injury but it was good to see the boys go up there and get the win.

“We have some really good tightheads in Wales at the moment and the lads that played last weekend did a really good job.

“I’m just happy to be back in the starting side this weekend and want to take my chance.”

Lee, who signed a National Dual Contract earlier this season, will be lining up at the Stade de France for the first time and is expecting a passionate atmosphere.

“I’m looking forward to playing in Paris, I’ve heard all about the atmosphere.

“When we played down in Toulon for the Scarlets the atmosphere was unbelievable and it was like an extra player for them and that’s what I’m expecting again.

“Those environments help motivate you and are a really good experience, you have to thrive on it.”

Looking at the opposition, Lee is under no illusions of the battle upfront.

“It’s going to be another big, tough challenge,” he added.

“They have got a big, strong set of forward and they will be focusing on the pack.

“They will bring a physical game and as forwards we have to match them every step of the way and put a big performance in.  We have to earn he right to play and that starts with the forwards.”
