Newport picked up their fourth win of a disappointing Principality Premiership campaign with a 22-21 victory over Llandovery at Rodney Parade.

The Black & Ambers made hard work of securing the win though with the normally reliable Geraint O’Driscoll putting what appeared to be a straight forward kick, wide of the posts in the 75th minute.

Drovers’ James Garland then appeared to have given his side victory with a penalty deep into injury time but play continued due to two very lengthy stoppages.

The home side threw everything into one last attack and dangerous winger Elliot Frewen almost got over and then to the joy of the home side the referee signalled that Llywarch ap Myrddin had got the ball down in a melee on the line for his second try of the evening to snatch a last gasp victory for Newport.
