The Blues controlled a close encounter, with winger Mathew Edwards leading his side to a 17-12 victory by scoring all of his side’s points.
But Cooper insisted it was the team performance that got them through to the final whistle.
He said: “The boys stuck together to win it and out played the other team I thought. The confidence in the boys made the difference for the players to come through on the day.
“There’s still games left in the league and we have a couple other finals to play and this will give us confidence.”
He added the team would also enjoy celebrating lifting the bowl. “We’re very pleased. It’s going to be a good night tonight.”
