He will return to Wales for further medical assessment and will be replaced in the Wales Under 20 squad by Ospreys and Swansea lock Matthew Dodd.
Wales have two remaining matches at the Italy-based Under 20 tournament. They play Ireland on Monday in the fifth place semi-final (Viadana, 8.30pm local time), and, depending on results, will play Australia or Scotland on Saturday 20 June.
