Head coach Geraint Lewis said, “We all know South Africa will provide a huge challenge and only our best will do in order to come away with a win.

“But that’s what we are aiming for, we’ve prepared well and we will give it our best shot. We’ve come out here to win, it’s a great development tool for the players, they won’t have a better opportunity to improve and prove what they are made of.

“We will respect South Africa, but we don’t want to be overawed, and we must impose our own game on the match.”

Wales Under 18 claimed an impressive scalp over England earlier this year and came close against France.

“We know we have the talent in this side to do well and we have picked a strong team. This tour is all about giving players exposure to another type of rugby and preparing them for Under 20 rugby next season. Calum (Haggett) is a strong captain and will lead from the front.”

After tomorrow’ s game, Wales play Italy in Stellenbosch on Tuesday before facing South Africa A next Saturday. Highlights of all three games will be shown on S4C.
