After missing last season with a snapped Achilles, the 28 year old hooker joined the capital club at the end of last season and has bagged the monthly prize for November, his performances standing out despite some disappointing league results for the capital club.

The former Aberavon and Cardiff Blues player says he feels energised and his enjoying his rugby again.

“Playing for Cardiff has given me a new lease of life from a playing perspective, especially after not playing at all last season. There is a good set of boys and coaches at the club and when I’m enjoying my rugby it shows.

“The coaching team, led by Simon King, is keen for us players to take responsibility for our own environment, review our own games using the WRU analysis system and have a voice, and that’s something I’m enjoying with a view to coaching more in the future.

“Our results haven’t gone as we would have liked recently, especially in the league and playing all our early games away from home wasn’t easy, but we got a couple of good wins, at Cross Keys, Llanelli and Neath. We’ve had some injuries but exposed some young players to this level of rugby and used the Foster’s Challenge Cup to give players some game time too.”

Breeze is one of the more experienced players at Cardiff, and sees helping develop some of the younger players as an important part of his role.

“I’m 28 now, I played my first Premiership game for Aberavon at 17 so along with playing for the Blues, I’ve been in and out of the Principality Premiership for 11 years so, like some other players with Regional experience like Johnathan Edwards, James Goode and Tom Slater, if I can help bring on the younger players, I will.

“There are good players at Cardiff such as James Thomas, Luke Ford and Will Rees-Hole in particular and some very good front row players so if I can help them even by 1%, that’s great.

“I definitely want to go into coaching, I’ve been coaching at my village club Cwmavon for the last two years and I’m currently doing my Level 3. I’m also really enjoying my hub officer role at Eastern High, so while I hope to have two or three years left playing, it’s definitely about preparing for the future.”

Principality Building Society’s Port Talbot branch manager Jamie Curry, said: “Marc has made a solid start to the new season with some great performances for Cardiff RFC. Competition within the Principality Premiership has been fierce so far this season and we hope to see this continue in 2016.”
