Ystrad Rhondda claimed a similarly impressive win in the fourth round against Penclawdd, beating the visitors 34-7.

The Division One East Central team put six tries past Penclawdd in horrendous conditions at Gelligaled Park. Neil Jones, Ryan Howells, Rhys Truelove, Jack Lawthom and a penalty try helped Ystrad to a 27-point lead at half-time. A final try from Dan Roberts sealed the victory in the second-half.

Penallta knocked out two-time winners Ammanford 16-3 in the quarter-final of the plate.
Tries from Lewis Barnett and Elliott Keep saw Penallta come away with an important victory to see them through to a second successive semi-final in the competition.

Bedlinog travelled to Ynysybwl and earned an 18-3 win in another quarter-final encounter. Bedlinog were considered underdogs going into the encounter, sitting 11 points behind Division One East leaders Ynysybwl.

Flanker Gareth Davies scored for the home team in an outstanding performance by the openside. Wing Rhys Bow also touched down, while Ben Grzicka kicked eight points for The Foxes.
Both teams endured terrible conditions at The Recreation ground, with ‘Bwl failing to penetrate the visitors’ defence.

After defeating the runaway leaders of Division One East Central Glamorgan Wanderers in the last round, Bedlinog’s hopes for progressing in the competition will be high.

In round five of the SSE Swalec Bowl, Taffs Well came away comfortable victors as they beat Swansea Uplands 15-0.

Elsewhere in the fifth round, Cambrian beat Machen 20-3 at The Tump and Burry Port beat Abercrave 34-12.
