Jack Wilson dropped a last minute goal to steer Swansea to a thrilling 39-38 home win over RGC 1404 in the SSE Swalec Championship to stay level on points with leaders Merthyr at the top of the table.
The north Walians took two points out of the game, but now find themselves up against it in the battle for a top four finish to clinch promotion to the Principality Premiership next season. They are four points behind reigning champions Bargoed in fifth place and are now 10 points behind third placed Pontypool with a game in hand.
Despite tries from Tiaan Loots, James Lang, Afon Bagshaw and Zygimantus Radzuis, RGC could not hold on to the lead they held all game. With his side trailing by two points, Wilson grabbed the glory for the All Whites with his drop goal.
A try double from Rory Gallagher, two penalty tries, as well as a try for Mike Sully, made sure Swansea were always within touching distance. They now have to travel to Bargoed next week.
Merthyr stayed on top after hammering Newcastle Emlyn 78-17. A mammoth 12 tries were put past the visitors, including a terrific hat-trick from Alex Howman and double from Osian Davies.
Other tries came from Craig Locke, Rhys Williams, Tom Daley, Matthew Jarvis, Dean Gunter, Martin Luckwell and Miles Normandale.
Bargoed also beat Bridgend Athletic in a convincing 35-8 win. There were two tries for Lewis Hudd, with Callum Jones, Lewis Protheroe and Luke Weyman also going over for the bonus point. The win keeps Bargoed in fourth place right behind Pontypool, who beat Tata Steel 39-24 in another bonus point win.
Jordan Williams and Clayton Gullis both scored twice for Pontypool. Josh Hurley and Pat Lewis also went over to keep them third in the table.
Glynneath romped to a 33-5 victory against Llanharan in a bottom of the table clash. Tries from Stuart Leach, Craig Tinan and a hat-trick from centre Josh Jones helped the visitors to the bonus point win. Scott Jones gained a consolation try for the winless Llanharan, who remain at the foot of the table.
Newbridge came out on top against Beddau in a 20-13 win. The twelfth placed team picked up a vital home win as the season comes to a close.
Cardiff Met beat Narberth 17-8 to move up to joint seventh with Narberth and Tata Steel in the table.
