The Ospreys will face Cardiff Blues at Ystrad Mynach on 4 September in their opening game of the new campaign. The squad has been selected after holding open training sessions and by taking the players throught testing at the Centre of Excellence, Vale of Glamorgan.

The squad was finalised by new head coach, Jonathan Hawker, and assistant coaches Adam Park and Alyn Lake, after a final training session last week. As well as being an important season for the Region, it is also a World Cup year for the players to bid for international honours.

“This is a big year for us as a new group coming together and we are really excited to have this group of players within our region. We have a strong blend of youth and experience, with 13 current internationals and so much potential within this squad we are relishing the challenge,” said Hawker.

“The regional championship starts earlier this year which hasn’t left us a lot of time to prepare but we are happy with our selection and are looking forward to contesting for silverware this season”
