Wing Josh Hurley put in a dazzling display, chipping in with a brace of tries, while Ben Sparks, Gareth Rusby-Davies, Rob Nash and full-back Kieran Meek also added their names to the scoresheet.
In the battle of the newly-promoted sides, Bedlinog and Glamorgan Wanderers played out a tense 6-6 draw. Foxes kicker Ian Smerdon and Wanderers’ Ben White both added a penalty either side of half-time as the two teams failed to break each other down in a cagey affair.
Fellow new boys Skewen and Dunvant both started life in the Championship with wins. Division 1 West Central champions Skewen edged Glynneath 13-3, with flanker Joe Lewis and wing Anthony Billet both scoring tries. Anthony Buselli, who impressed at fly-half last season, kicked a penalty.
Dunvant, last years’ Division 1 West winners, shut-out Newbridge 23-0 with a solid and dominant effort. Steve Lynch and Adam Williams scored the home teams’ tries with outside-centre Richard Lewis amassing 13 points from the boot to cap off the win.

The Saints clicked into gear. The home side were able to recycle the ball out wide on a number of occasions leaving Jordan Skidmore, David Griggs and Matthew Llewellyn free to cross over with Jack O’Reilly scoring points off the tee.
The students of Cardiff Met ran in three tries in a 20-13 win at Newcastle Emlyn to get their season off to a flying start. The home side, who picked up a losing bonus point, led 7-5 in the first-half thanks to a try by Luke Kendall that Nico Setaro converted.
But Cardiff Met were 10-7 ahead at the break thanks to two tries and their third after the break took them eight points clear. They added a final penalty to make victory safe after Setaro had kicked two penalties of his own.
