The 27-year-old Dacey follows in the footsteps of his Cardiff Blues team mates Tom James and Gethin Jenkins in extending his stay at the capital city club after agreeing new terms this week. He made his Blues debut in 2010 and recently made his 100th appearance.
“It was an easy decision to make. I have been here since they converted me into a hooker and with Danny Wilson, Matt Sherratt, Graham Steadman and all the coaches here it would be a stupid decision for me to leave,” said Dacey.
“I have been back and fore with Wales and that is an ongoing ambition and I can fulfil that by playing well here. There is always room to improve and I’m working hard on and off the field to achieve those goals.
“I feel this is the best place for me to do that. Since Danny has come in I’ve improved in key areas of my game, especially at the set-piece where I am more confident in my ability.
“It was a huge honour recently to make my 100th appearance for the region. I have a young family, my wife and son are settled here and we didn’t want to go anywhere else.”
Dacey won the first of his three Welsh caps against Ireland in 2015 and went on last summer’s tour to New Zealand, where he played in the midweek game against the Chiefs.
