Rob Howley’s side have plenty to play for with a second-place finish in the tournament still on the cards.
And Wales could yet move up to fourth in the world rankings should they secure a sixth-straight win over France and if England beat Ireland in Dublin.
Davies wants to put his experience from his time at Clermont Auvergne to good use as Wales go in search of victory at the Stade de France on Saturday afternoon.
He said: “They have some consistency in their team now. They are a proud team at home, Paris is always a tough place to go, they will want to finish off their campaign on a good note and we are going there to get the victory as well.
“I think it will be a hard game as always. The French sometimes take it off a bit in the last 20 minutes, so it is about making sure we play with that intensity, enjoy ourselves, and play some good rugby.”
Davies spent two years playing at the Stade Marcel Michelin and highlighted the areas where France will pose a threat.
“I played with Noa [Nakaitaci] at Clermont, he is a huge talent,” added the now Scarlets centre.
“Remi Lameret has had a good Six Nations, he is very strong. All round they are very comfortable on the ball, it will be a tough ask for us as a backline.
“We need to make sure we step it up defensively to make sure they don’t get any joy this weekend. I think we need to make sure our first-up tackles are effective and stop them on the gain line.
“We don’t want to be chasing back and scrapping in defence. We want to get our first-up tackles, win the advantage line battle, and I think defensively we can be very dominant.”
