Josh Roderick’s hat-trick, Keith David’s double and 18 points from Josh Davies helped Sports claim the title with a 43-20 success at Crynant and they finished the season off with a 51-21 win at Baglan.
“It’s a great way to finish, you can’t get any better can you? We decided last year that this would be our last go, one last push and we’ve just pipped Porthcawl to the title,” said Burke.
“We’re stepping down this year and we’ve gone from ninth to fifth to third and now we’ve won it. It’s been two good sides going for the title, Porthcawl are a really good side.
“It wouldn’t have been a disappointment to come second and win promotion but when you know with the squad you have that you should be winning titles then that’s what you aim to do.
Sports showed their intentions at the beginning of the season with six consecutive victories before they were beaten 19-16 in December by title rivals Porthcawl, which proved to be their only defeat of the season.
They went on to win their next eight games to clinch the title with a game to spare – and won that game too.
