Cambrian’s 45-17 home win over Taffs Well made it 21 wins from 21 and saw them reach 100 points for the season.
Forwards coach Marc Whitford was bursting with pride, saying: “The standards the boys have set this year have been phenomenal.
“All the hard work they’ve put in – on and off the field – the commitment, desire, passion, and the work ethic has been fantastic all season.
“We’ve put everything into it and all the goals that we set we’ve smashed to pieces.
“We’ve got one more goal now for this week and that’s to stay undefeated in the league for the whole season.”
This weekend’s final game at at Cilfynydd on Saturday will no doubt be an emotional one for ‘Whitty’ who is stepping back as a coach in order to spend more time with his family.
However he will still be keeping a keen eye on events at Cambrian as they prepare to embark on life in Division Two next season.
He added: “We’ve fulfilled the goals we set ourselves as a club over the past three years. Winning the league is massive for the club; The Bowl final [in 2015] was a special day but the league is the bread and butter.
“The future is very bright and there are exciting times ahead. There’s a new challenge there now. I think they’ll hold their own in Division Two and then look to push on to Division One.”
