Wales, who raised the Challenge Trophy in Singapore last time out, have been drawn in Pool B with New Zealand, USA and Argentina.
“We have a couple of new faces in the squad with regards to this season,” said head coach Gareth Williams. “Our aim in this phase of the year is to finish as strongly as possible, but also to increase the competition in the squad moving into next year.”
A busy sevens calendar this summer means a chance for players to get themselves noticed for international selection, with the Commonwealth Games and the Rugby World Cup Sevens on the horizon in 2018.
“We have the Rugby Europe programme coming up in June and July, the Heineken 7s, and a development team playing in Paris this week in the Centrale Sevens,” Williams said. “Therefore there is a lot of opportunity for players to put their hands up moving into 2017/18, which is a massive year for us.
“The challenge for the players in Paris who have been regulars this season is to prove their consistency and carry on the good work they have done this year.”
