The 31-year-old Wales skipper has not played since injuring his shoulder in Wales’ 6 Nations loss to France in March. Since then he has been selected to make a third tour with the Lions to New Zealand next month.
The Ospreys have lost six of their last nine matches without him and head coach Steve Tandy is looking forward to having him back at the heart of his pack for the trip to Limerick. Munster have already beaten the Ospteys twice this season.
“We are going to have to find a kitchen sink from somewhere to throw at them. We know how good a team they are and how they can strangle you,” said Tandy.
“We have spluttered of late but, over the 22 rounds, we have deserved to reach the semi-finals. The last time we were here two years ago we played at Munster and the game went down to the wire.
“We thought we’d sneaked it in the end, but it wasn’t to be. We’re pleased with we’ve come from last year given all the injuries we’ve suffered this season.
“We finished fourth and that is a massive improvement on last season. Everyone, other than those in our dressing room, doesn’t think we can do it, but there is nothing better than everyone looking at you as if you have absolutely no chance of winning in Munster.”
Sam Davies and Ashley Beck are also fit to be considered for the semi-final/
