The 28-year-od back row man made 19 appearances on the World Sevens Series for the Welsh side and also played in the 15-a-side game for home town team Neath, Tonmawr, Llanelli and the Scarlets.
“Craig is an outstanding player who can operate effectively anywhere in the back row. He has experience at Premiership, regional and international level, shows great flair in attack and has a hard nose attitude in defence,” said Aberavon head coach Jason Hyatt.
Price took a break from rugby for a while after making 63 appearances for Llanelli and 23 for the Scarlets in a four year stint at Parc y Scarlets. He played a handful of games for Neath in 2015, but hasn’t played since.
“I’m looking forward to enjoying and playing some expansive rugby after some time out of the game. It’s a new opportunity for me and it comes with great competition in the squad,” said Price.
Hyatt has a very healthy contingent of back row options in his squad with Lee Purnell, Joe Tomalin-Reeves, Rob Dudley-Jones, Luke Joseph and Jacob Blackmore all set to battle for starting positions for last season’s Premiership runners-up.
