The Gwent club caused an upset in the Swalec Cup when they comfortably beat Carmarthen Quins 23-8. Two penalty tries and nine points from the boot of former Wales and Ospreys outside half Matthew Jones was enough to see Pooler home with their forwards among the most physical in the Championship.

Second place Tata Steel will be looking to close the gap on Pooler as they face a trip to Glynneath. Tata are 17 points behind their rivals in the Championship table.

Elsewhere third place Narberth are up against Bedlinog who comfortably beat Skewen last time out. With games being postponed due to harsh weather conditions Narberth have not played in the Championship since January 13.

Bedlinog, who currently reside in sixth place, will be keen to recover from their 41-7 cup exit at the hands of Cross Keys. Rhydyfelin are another Championship outfit aiming to recover from a reverse in the cup after their 40-0 defeat against Premiership side Bargoed. They will host eighth place Newcastle Emlyn this weekend.

Seventh placed Cardiff Met will play Trebanos who are fourth in the Championship table, while Newbridge host Skewen.
