The Steelmen sit third in the table on 13 points following a 19-12 away win over RGC 1404.
In a tight game in north Wales, a late penalty try for Ebbw won them the game after three penalties from Rhys Jones and one from Carl Meyer.
Mark Jones’ RGC scored two tries of their own through Andrew Williams and Iolo Evans with Billy McBryde kicking a conversion, but it was not enough.
“It’s been a really good start for us. Three wins is excellent, but we have been harsh on ourselves so far and know we have played in patches in all three games,” said Ebbw boss Woods.
“At times we’ve played some excellent rugby, but at others we’ve been slow to get going so there is still lots to work on and hopefully more to come from us.
“RGC away was an excellent win. I don’t think many teams will go up there and come out on top this season.”
Next up for Ebbw is a home game with Bridgend on Saturday and Woods added: “Our game is built on a strong set-piece and the forwards are going well. We’ve got some quality additions in the backline this season and we want to make sure we play in the right areas.
“We’ve got a great home crowd too and pride ourselves on our fitness. In the games we’ve won so far we’ve come from behind a few times, but it’s one match at a time for us.
“Bridgend have had a good start too and had a great home win over Swansea, but we are at home and the boys take great pride in representing the town.
“We want to give them something to shout about in what will be a big battle.”
Llandovery maintained their winning ways to hold on to top spot with a 52-30 triumph at Bedwas that included 27 points from skipper Jack Maynard.
The Drovers outside-half scored two of his side’s seven tries, converted them all, and added a penalty for good measure to keep his side a point clear of Ebbw Vale.
Game No 436 between arch-rivals Cardiff and Newport ended in a first win of the season for the Blue & Blacks as they came from behind to triumph 29-27.
To make matters all the sweeter for the home side it was Newport’s first defeat of the campaign.
But at least Craig Warlow’s men were able to leave the Arms Park with a losing bonus-point and they are still ahead of Cardiff in the table. They led 20-19 at half-time after tries from Harri Laing and Jonathan Morris and 10 points from the boot of Matt O’Brien.
The home side conjured up three first half tries from Gareth Thompson, Tom Daley and Joe Gatt and full-back Llywarch Ap Myrddin ran in a bonus point try after the break.
Thompson chipped in with three conversions and a penalty.
Reigning champions Merthyr were made to work hard for their bonus point at Parc y Scarlets by a fired up home side who changed ends 21-0 down and actually won the second half 7-5.
The Ironmen bagged four tries in their 26-7 victory to remain unbeaten as they chase a hat-trick of Premiership titles.
Former Ospreys wing Jay Baker scored twice for the visitors and their other tries came from No 8 Hemi Barnes and full -back Matthew Jarvis. Jarvis also added three conversions.
Carmarthen Quins were happy to escape with a 19-14 win at Bargoed, where they home side pushed them all the way. Nic Reynolds, Torin Myhill and Dylan Morgans scored tries for the visitors, while Jordan Howells and Alex Herbert replied in kind for the home team.
Aberavon just edged past Pontypridd 25-19 at the Talbot Athletic Ground after a pulsating match.
Having thrown away a 17-point lead at Ebbw Vale in the live TV match the previous weekend, Jason Hyatt’s men sealed the deal after falling behind 19-17 at the start of the second half when Morgan Sieniawski crossed for a try that Ceri Sweeney improved.
The Wizards had first half tries from Shaun Pearce, Sam Williams and Matthew Jenkins to thank for a 17-12 interval lead. When hooker Ieuan Davies converted a driving line-out try it not only put the home side back in front, but also earned them the bonus point.
Jason Tovey put the boot into Neath to steer Cross Keys to a 36-30 win at Pandy Park.
The former Dragons, Blues and Edinburgh outside-half kicked 21 points to go with tries from Srdan Majkic, Owain Leonard and Wes Cunliffe.
Neath led 15-13 at the break and ended the game with two bonus points having scored four tries via Callum Hall, Aaron Bramwell, Ian Ellis and a penalty try and finishing within seven points.
