The Ravens are currently 12th in the table, four points off the drop zone but have began to hit some form. Silva believes the men from the Brewery Field are on an upward trajectory ahead of tonight’s home clash with Bargoed.
“This is the most exciting Premiership season I can remember,” he said.
“There is real jeopardy in the league and from the players’ point of view they’ve got to be switched on and they have to be at 100 per cent to get a result.
“We’ve got some consistency in our performances and we’re there or thereabouts. The games we’ve lost recently against the likes of Merthyr and Newport are games we’ve lost by a few points and in all honesty should have won.
“It’s been a tough season, but we’ve become very battle hardened as a squad over the last few months. This squad we’ve got here at Bridgend is desperate to do well and it’s showing in our performances.
“The way we’re approaching the contact area shows how much we want it while our set-piece has been outstanding of late.” Bridgend’s game with Bargoed aside, there are two other fixtures tonight.
Greg Woods’ Ebbw Vale host Euros Evans’ Llandovery at Eugene Cross Park. With only one position separating both sides, The winner will shoot up towards the top end of the Premiership table. Newport are also in action as they travel to St Helen’s where they will face an in-form Swansea side.
Tomorrow bottom of the table Neath face Mark Jones’ RGC1404 at The Gnoll with the Gogs going in search of five points which would push them closer to the top half of the table.
