Third host first at Church Bank with the Ironmen six points clear at the summit. The Drovers are unlikely to be champions, but could still have a big impact in the title race.
“Llandovery are a very good side, especially at home. When you analyse them as an opposition you realise there are not many weaknesses there,” said Merthyr head coach McIntosh.
“The side we picked for Newport was a bit indifferent so we could save a few players for this game. We don’t have Tom James, but Jay Baker, Aaron Pinches, Rhys Downes and Osian Davies will all be involved. I’m particularly looking forward to seeing Jay back on the park.
“Our squad at the moment is a bit light at second row, but other than that we’re good injury wise.”
It looks like a straight shootout between Merthyr and Cardiff for the league’s winner.
McIntosh’s men are favourites, but he is not counting his chickens just yet.
“Every game is crucial. It is difficult for both us and Cardiff as we have the WRU National Cup to contend with as well,” he added.
“It looks like the title race will go down to the final whistle and we need to get something from Llandovery. We are six points ahead but have a tough run in so it’s not over.
“There is also a huge game on Friday night between Cardiff and Pontypridd which could have a big impact on what happens.”
