The All Whites were double champions last season but their opponents tomorrow, Pontyclun Falcons have already claimed the Premiership crown this season.
It is the first time the final has been played at the home of Welsh rugby and captain Siwan Lillicrap believes her teammates are determined to make it a winning visit.
“Pontyclun have beaten us twice in the League already this season. They are a very tight group, they’ve got some good players and they’ll be looking to do the double.”
Swansea have six full internationals in their starting line-up and are hoping to make that experience count on the big stage.
“We have been a victim of our own success in many ways this season with regional and international call-ups so it’s been hard to get that continuity, but we’ve prepared well for this one. There have been positives too, for example we have blooded a lot of new players into the group.
“We are very well supported by Swansea Rugby Club and we’re determined to bring some silverware home. We’ve got some travelling support and hopefully supporters of women’s rugby will come out to enjoy the occasion.”
Pontyclun are certainly not just turning up to make up the numbers with coach Lisa Newton confident her side will be up for the challenge. “It’s a really exciting for us all. The girls have worked hard all season to be rewarded with his opportunity and they couldn’t be more ready.
“I think it will be a good game of rugby deserving of the venue and occasion. I know Swansea have their internationals back so we are seen as underdogs but we are quietly confident we can take it to them.
“The main thing is to produce a good performance for women’s rugby.”
Cardiff Quins Girls take on Pencoed Phoenix in the U18 Final at 5.20 ahead of the Super Cup Final.
