A proven try-scorer, Evans was named the Welsh Principality Premiership Player of the Season in 2017-18 after an impressive campaign for Merthyr.
The 28-year-old spent three seasons in the Welsh top division with Llanelli, where he scored 27 tries in 57 games and earned a call-up to regional duty with Scarlets in the LV= Cup.
Kyle also played for a campaign in the GKIPA Championship with Birmingham-based Moseley before moving to Merthyr in 2016.
Director of rugby Clive Griffiths was pleased to add the fast and quick footed winger to the Doncaster squad.
He said: “When I spoke to Kyle, he gave all the right signals that he really wanted to succeed with the Knights and his hunger for success was infectious.
“With Paul Jarvis’ departure, we needed to bring in another wingman and I am delighted to say we now have Kyle on board.”
Evans spoke of the excitement to get going at Castle Park when the Knights begin pre-season on June 11th.
“I am happy and indebted to Clive Griffiths for giving me the opportunity to join Doncaster Knights,” he said.
“I am excited to be playing in the Championship and facing new challenges, which I feel will bring the best out in me.
“I am very much looking forward to meeting and working alongside the team, coaching staff and all that are involved to become the very best I can be.
“My focus right now is playing well and consistently for the Knights and I am excited to see what I can contribute to the team next season.”
