Having narrowly avoided relegation new head coach Steve Jones has moved to add three new faces to his pack with second-row Ben Mayers Davies, tight-head prop Ben Davies and prop Rhys Forse coming on board.

Former Wales Under 18s man Davies joins the Ravens from Aberavon with 16 years of top flight experience under his belt. Davies began his career with Neath in 2003 and has also enjoyed stints with Tata Steel, Swansea, Tonmawr and Aberavon.

Warren has swapped defending champions Merthyr for the Brewery Field. The 21-year-old former Coleg Y Cymoedd student was voted Merthyr’s most promising player in 2018 and is renowned as a strong scrummager while fellow prop Forse, 22, joins the Ravens from regional rivals Aberavon where he made 72 appearances over four seasons.

Jones has also moved to bolster his back division with six new signings for new backs coaches Richard Fussell and Tom Grabham to work with. Among the new faces behind the scrum is utility back Julian Mogg who was formerly a member of Bristol’s academy where he represented England South West under 16s and under 20s.

Mogg arrived in Wales from Bristol Academy via Filton College in 2014 when he signed with Newport. He played for two years with the Black and Ambers before making the switch to Swansea. Following a brief stint with the All Whites, he made the move east to tie up with Bargoed where he featured against Bridgend last season.

The Ravens has signed two outside-halves from Bedwas in Jacob Chilcott and Ben White while 25-year-old back three flyer Andrew Evans has been signed from Newport. Utility back Lewis Evans has also been signed while Owen Howe’s move has been made permanent having featured for Bridgend on loan last season.

They’ll add to an already exciting back line which will feature re-signed players Mike Powell, Nathan Edwards, Morgan Jones, Stuart Floyd Ellis, Jamie Murphy, Chris Williams, Dan James, Geraint Roberts, Tyler Williams and Connor Tantum.
