Jordan Thomas and Kieran Meek ran in first half tries for the visitors, with two Meek conversions giving them a narrow 14-13 half time lead. But five second half tries secured an eighth bonus point victory out of eight for the champions.

Owain Leonard, Thomas again, Lloyd Lewis, twice, and Adam Stratton all dotted down with Meek adding the extras to four of them. The win maintains Pooler’s three-point lead over similarly unbeaten Bargoed, who picked up five points with 42 unanswered second half points in a 52-6 home win over Narberth.

Ronny Kynes and Duane Dyer were both at the double for Bargoed with James Leadbeater, Adam Powell and Matthew Thomas their other try scorers. Steffan Jones kicked five conversions and a penalty while Josh Prosser added the other two conversions. Nick Gale kicked the points for Narberth, who only trailed 10-6 at the break.

Meanwhile, Bedwas, who have two games in hand on the top two, got the better of Tata Steel 44-20 to make it six wins out of six. Tries by Alec Jones, Jonathan Armitage, James Richards, Mike Dacey and Matthew Bovington secured maximum points for Stefan Sankala’s men. Dion McIntosh added five conversions and three penalties.

Morgan Williams, Jay Key and Bleddyn Davies went over for hosts Tata with Geraint Llewellyn adding five points from the tee. Glamorgan Wanderers are up a place into fourth after seeing off Trebanos 12-10 for a sixth win in eight.

The Wanderers were 12-0 to the good at half time thanks to two tries from Cameron Gibbon, one of which was converted by Paul Short. Josh Ferriman and Richard Brunton replied for Trebanos in the second half.

Maesteg Quins edged Ystrad Rhondda 23-20. Kieron Watkins and Cameron Jones tries plus three penalties and two conversions from Tadhg McGuckin secured the win.

Elsewhere, Ben Warren and Cody Baker, plus 14 points from the boot of Hywel Chatham, set Beddau on their way to a 24-17 home win over Ystalyfera. Having knocked them out of the cup last weekend, Neath once again got the better of Cross Keys.

Jacob Blackmore, James Roberts and Jordan Rees were the Neath scorers in a 24-21 win at Pandy Park. Callum Hall converted all three tries as well as sending over a penalty.
