Pontypool made it nine bonus-point wins in a row with a victory against Maesteg Quins

There were six yellow cards issued in a stormy contest at Pontypool Park where the reigning champions made it nine bonus-point wins in a row with a 33-0 victory over Maesteg Quins.

It means Pontypool are now eight points clear at the top of the Specsavers National Championship with a maximum return of 45 points from their nine outings.​ The bonus-point was in the bag by half time thanks to first half tries from Jake Morgan (2), Lewis Ball and Duan Thomas.​

Kieran Meek added the extras to three of them for a 26-0 interval lead. He also converted Scott Evans’ second half try.​

Second placed Bargoed, who head to Pontypool Park on 7 December for the biggest showdown of the season, had their scheduled trip to Trebanos postponed due to the weather.​ Narberth’s game against Cross Keys was also postponed.​

Bedwas, in third, remain 12 points behind Pooler, but with two games in hand, after they saw off Cardiff Met 29-10 at the Bridge Field. ​First half tries from Owain Keane and James Richards, along with a penalty and conversion from James Hallett, saw the home side lead 15-10 at the break.​

They extended that lead just after the re-start after with a penalty try before Bradley Williams secured maximum points with a fourth try, converted by Hallett.​
Elsewhere, Glamorgan Wanderers recovered from an 18-6 half time deficit to win 20-18 in the proverbial game of two halves against Ystrad Rhondda at Gelligaled Park.​ Liam Wiggins and Jack Foulkes tries saw the hosts hit the front with Rhys Truelove booting the rest.

Paul Short kicked two first half penalties in reply for Wands who hit back in the second half through Jack Beetham with Short converting.​ The visitors then snatched the victory in dramatic fashion thanks to Dan Watts’ try with the last play, again converted by Short.​

Neath hit Beddau for six in the first-half of their 34-7 home win over Beddau, but couldn’t add to their tally in the second half. In fact, the visitors’ won that 7-0.​
Nicky Griffiths ran in two tries and Ben Atkins, David Griggs, Jarrad Rees and an interception by James Roberts ensured the bonus-point was in the bag early doors. Callum Hall kicked two conversions to make it 34-0 at half-time. Will Haly replied with a try for Beddau in the second half which Hywel Chatham converted.​

Ystalyfera made it back-to-back home wins as they defeated Tata Steel 20-13.​ Josh Jarrett, Bowdy Davies and Ryan James went over for the Fera with Steff Castle adding five points from the tee.​
