Luke Bevan helped himself to 19 points in the 39-18 victory as he scored two tries, kicked three conversions, and added a penalty. Other tries came from Sam Richards, Ben Cording, skipper Ben Howe and Matt Norman.
The win for the Bridgend side took them one point clear of Bonymaen who won 23-8 at Kenfig Hill. Dan Brooks and Sam Jones scored their tries while Paul Cunliffe converted them both and added three penalties.
Ynysybwl helped themselves to five tries in their comfortable 35-0 home win over Barry in Division 1 East Central.
Wing Dewi Voyle ran in two of them and No 8 Alan Thomas and scrum-half Lucas Welch also scored.
There was also a penalty try for the home side and Joe Williams added four conversions.
The win moved them up to fifth place after St Joseph’s fell to a 26-8 defeat at Dinas Powys.
Rumney were able to extend the only unbeaten record left in the division to six games thanks to the boot of Regan Mahoney. The home outside-half held his nerve to land three penalties to pip St Peter’s 9-6 in a dour, try-less affair.
Rumney are now up to third place and still have three games in hand on league leaders Treorchy who are six points clear of them and one on second placed Rhydyfelin.
In the other game in the division, Ryan Stacey kicked Rhiwbina to a 12-5 home win over Cambrian Welfare with four penalties.
A last-gasp try from No 8 Jonathan Hughes via a driving line-out carried Laugharne to a 14-13 win over Crymych in Division 1 West. Dan Guarnari added three penalties to lift the home side out of the relegation zone.
North Wales champions Llandudno ran in 16 tries in a 95-0 massacre of Dolgellau to stretch their unbeaten run to nine league games in Division 1 North.
They are one point behind Bethesda who hammered Bro Ffestiniog 64-0 although they have played a game less.
Star of the show for the Goats was wing Rhys Henderson who helped himself to four tries. Ryan Pike knocked over six conversions to go with his try for a match tally of 17 points.
On a day of big scores in the north, Nant Conwy beat Llangefni 52-0 at home while both Pwllheli and Caernarfon picked up bonus-points with away day wins.
