Despite the likelihood of adverse weather conditions affecting the game, the Wizards are desperate to get the better of Justin Burnell’s side who lie one position below them in fourth in the Indigo Group Premiership table.
Hyatt has backed his side to cope with the elements and opposition.
“We have had to plan a bit differently for this weekend’s game because of the predicted weather conditions,” he said.
“It’s going to be very tough for both sides to play in. We usually like to throw the ball around and entertain the crowd, but we will have to play a bit differently this time around.
“What I’m really pleased about is the amount of leaders we have in our side. We don’t just have one or two, we have leaders from one to 15 and that’s going to be crucial to the outcome of this game.
“I’m confident we have what it takes to do well in this game. Pontypridd are a very good side though and they are well coached by Justin.
“They have a strong back three with an excellent kicking game and have been going really well this season as they always do. We will have to be at our very best to beat them, but we need to win to keep the pressure on at the top of the table.”
Elsewhere, top of the table Cardiff face a trip to Eugene Cross Park to face a struggling Ebbw Vale side.
The Steelmen are a mere three points off the bottom of the table and are fighting hard to avoid relegation to the Championship.
On paper Cardiff are overwhelming favourites to prevail, but head coach Steve Law will be wary of Ebbw Vale’s desperation to stay in the division.
Bottom of the table Bridgend welcome Llanelli to the Brewery Field in another vitally important relegation clash.
The Ravens are rock bottom and Llanelli will see their meeting as an excellent opportunity to put further daylight between themselves and the league’s trap door.
Swansea are another side who have been struggling at the wrong end of the table and are facing a tough challenge against Merthyr at The Wern.
Dale McIntosh’s Merthyr are experiencing a disappointing season by their standards with the defending champions fifth in the table.
The All Whites on the other hand are only seven points ahead of Bridgend and are in desperate need of wins.
In Colwyn Bay sixth-placed RGC 1404 face one of the Premiership’s form club in Carmarthen Quins. West Walian outfit Quins are second in the table but still 10 points behind Cardiff.
They will see their trip of Parc Eirias as a golden opportunity to close the gap.
Sunday’s clash between Newport and Llandovery at Rodney Parade has been called off due to the forecast bad weather.
