Coleg Y Cymoedd, Coleg Sir Gar and Coleg Gwent are the only victors to date in the 10 previous finals, with Cymoedd and Sir Gar level on four wins each. Coleg Gwent beat Cymoedd 11-8 in the last final in January 2020.
Llandovery College will be the first school side to reach the top final and is reward for the hard-work put in behind the scenes by head coach Nathan Thomas and the directors of rugby, Ioan Cunningham, now departed to the WRU, and Sam Williams.
Having already beaten two former champions this term, Coleg Gwent, Sir Gar and Cymoedd, they will go into the final full of confidence, although they will know that CAVC came out on top when they met earlier in the season, 32-19.
Ysgol Glantaf will have to beat Sir Gar to guarantee their safe passage into the Plate Final against the same opposition. They will at least have home advantage for the final league fixture, although Newport HS will be waiting in the wings if they slip up.
They meet Neath Port Talbot College and will be seeking to make up the one point gap between themselves and Glantaf to try to set-up a final shoot out with Sir Gar.
The game at Whitchurch HS today could well be a forerunner to the Bowl final next week. The home side welcome Llandrillo to the Welsh capital.
The north Walians won their earlier clash, 28-15, and are guaranteed a day out at Principality Stadium next week. Whitchurch need to avoid a heavy defeat to join them.
