Jeremy Rogers’ side are undefeated so far this season and were superior to their visitors in every department. Bargoed’s forwards were in complete control throughout laying the platform for tries from Kieran Brown, Geraint Edmunds, Louis Blacker, and Wade Langley who crossed for a brace.
Arguable the try of the match came from Blacker who dummied from the base of the ruck before running in unopposed from 40 metres out. Narberth were also the big winners of the round as they ran riot to score five tries on their way to a 40-19 win over Cardiff Met.
Two tries from Jordan Roberts, and a try apiece from Nick Gale, Tom Powell, and Rhys Lane helped secure a significant victory for the Otters. Gale’s first try was a standout score with some scintillating interplay between both backs and forwards putting him over at the far right-hand corner.
Elsewhere, Neath’s unbeaten start to the season came to an end as they were beaten 36-30 at Bedwas. This was a highly entertaining affair with the lead changing hands on numerous occasions but the home crowd played a big role in swinging the result Bedwas’ way.
Craig Hudd, Matt Bancroft, Dafydd Thomas, and Tim Ryan along with four successful penalties from Dion McIntosh got Bedwas over the line. Neath did score three tries of their own courtesy of Elis Horgan, Alun Jones, and James Roberts.
Ystrad Rhondda got back to winning ways with a 18-7 win over Tata Steel. Tries from Sion Summers and Jarrad Llewellyn were accompanied by fly half Rhys Truelove picking up eight points with his boot to help secure the win for the home side. Defeat leaves Tata Steel still searching for their first win this season.
