The home side led twice in the first-half, but then failed to score again after the break as they slumped to back-to-back defeats. They have now conceded 85 points and 12 tries.

Both teams wore black arm bands in tribute to the death of The Queen and there was a two minute silence before the game began. It was the visitors who struck first blood via a seventh minute penalty from Rhys Jones, but the All Whites notched the first try.

Back to back penalties allowed them to kick downfield and then catch the Wizards on the hop when scrum half Connor Tantum tapped and went. He linked up with Cai Davies before taking a return pass and sniping his way over at the posts for the first of his side’s two tries in the 16th minute.

James Davies added the extras to put his side ahead, but the response from Aberavon was swift and incisive. Centre Joe Gage cut through to score, Jones converted and then improved a second try from former Wales No 8 Dan Baker.

Davies cut the gap with a second penalty and then gave his side some real hope with a brilliant 50:22 kick that set up an attacking platform. Tantum picked out Hanno Dirksen with a great pass and the former Ospreys man powered over for a second home try that Davies converted to once again give his team the lead.

It looked as though the All Whites would change ends with their noses in front at 17-15, but in injury time they conceded a penalty which Jones fired into their 22 and the pack did the rest from the line-out.

It was Ashton Evans who was driven over and Jones’ conversion made it 22-17 to the visitors. The second half then became a bit of a precession. Jonny Phillips raced over for the bonus-point try 10 minutes after the break, Jones converting, and then replacement hooker Cameron Lewis and wing Stef Andrews rounded things off.
