Wizards’ Gage weaves his magic to lead try scoring chart

Joe Gage

Joe Gage is leading the way on the try scoring front

Evan Lloyd and Joe Gage may have suffered different fortunes last week on the pitch, but both managed to stay top of the league as leading points scorer and try scorer repectively in the Indigo Premierhip.

Lloyd rattled up a further 12 points in a losing cause when his Ebbw Vale side lost narrowly to Bridgend while Gage inched further ahead of his nearest challengers on the try scoring charts with a brace against Merthyr in what can only be described as a try-fest at the Talbot Athletic Ground.

Wizards head coach Jason Hyatt is certainly getting value for money when it comes to his back row.

No player has gained more game time this season than industrious Ashton Evans. The hard working back row has amassed 494 minutes game time on the pitch from his six starts while his colleague Joe Tomalin-Reeves has totalled 466 minutes on the pitch from the same amount of starts. Swansea’s Callum Bowden is only one minute behind Tomalin-Reeves, having accumulated 465 minutes from his six starts.
