This time it is Cardiff Met who are top of the pile, level on 30 points with Bath and Loughborough, and it promises to be a classic, no holds barred contest.
“We are prepared to take them on up front. They’ve got a good pack, but we’ve prepared well,” said Williams.
“Our scrum went really well in biblical conditions last week when we beat Leeds Beckett at home. I’m not sure how we managed to play or score tries in that game and we are looking to play in some drier conditions this week.
“Loughborough play on an all-weather surface and the weather looks to be OK. They are consistently one of the best teams in Super Rugby and it is going to be a great contest.
“We played them in pre-season and beat them. That gave us an insight into how they play and where their strengths are, so that should help us.”
Cardiff University face two Welsh derby clashes in their three games before the Christmas break, starting with a trip to St Helen’s in Round 9. Swansea University are currently lying one off the bottom with one win in eight games and are in need of points to stay ahead of Leeds Beckett in order to avoid the dreaded drop.
