That leaves them 13 points clear of Brecon in top spot, although the Mid Wales side are also unbeaten in their six games after winning 33-24 at Monmouth. Logan McIntosh crossed for two of Brecon’s five tries and Jake Crockett kicked four conversions.
Pontypool United recorded a fine win at Penallta as they ran out 12-7 victors in a tight game. Sam Cochrane and Joe Blackmore got the tries that mattered for the visitors and Matt Bancroft kicked a conversion.
In Division 1 East Central, Rumney picked up a bonus-point in their 22-13 home win over Cardiff rivals St Joseph’s. Back row man Lewis Hill scored twice before centre Cain Sutton and Charlie Barratt finished off the visitors, who scored two tries of their own.
It was a victory that kept Rumney in striking distance of top of the table St Peter’s, who ran out 43-26 winners over Rhiwbina. That win got The Rocks back on track after their first defeat of the season at Mountain Ash in their previous outing.
Nant Conwy continued their perfect record, at the top of Division 1 North, with a 32-13 win against Caernarfon. Two tries from Rhydian Jones and a try from Carwyn Davies helped Nant Conwy to an excellent start. Jones added a try and seven points off the boot, before a late Siencyn Metcalfe secured the win.
Bonymaen leapfrogged Ammanford into top spot in Division 1 West Central, following a tight win against Birchgrove. Ammanford fell to their second loss of the season, losing 44-22 against Dunvant, who now sit second in the league.
Ryan Willimas scored a try and kicked five points to keep Ammanford in touch at 14-10 at the break at Broadacre, but the home side ended with six tries as they romped to an impressive victory.
Newcastle Emlyn reigned supreme with a dominant 60-24 bonus point victory against Llanelli Wanderers, helping them to move to the top of Division 1 West. Aberystwyth inflicted a first defeat of the league campaign on Llangennech in their 26-17 home win.
