Cup fever across Wales as Principality Stadium beckons

Newbridge and Nant Conwy are enjoying unbeaten seasons and are eyeing up a league and cup double for the first time as 40 clubs look to take the next step on the ‘Road to Principality.

Gwent club Newbridge are 19 points clear at the half-way stage in Division 1 East with a full house of bonus-points from their 12 games to date. In Division 1 North, Nant Conwy are 10 points clear of Ruthin at the top of the table with 10 out of 10. 

They are both in the last eight in the Division 1 Cup, with Newbridge hosting Dunvant and Nant heading south to meet Bonymaen on 18 February. 

Aberdare are another unbeaten outfit in the quarter-finals of the Division 2 Cup. They are top of their table with 11 wins out of 11 games in East Central, while Morriston have also won all nine of their games in West Central to top that table by 15 points. 

Other teams in the lower leagues who can still boast unbeaten records are Abertillery BG, Mold II, St Clears, Forgeside and Ferndale.
