Both will have opportunities to further enhance their records this Sunday in the semi-final play-offs when the Drovers host Merthyr and Cardiff entertain Newport.
Maynard is the only player to have surpassed a double century of points in the league with a haul of 202 points. Ebbw Vale’s Evan Lloyd led the point scoring charts in the early stages of the season but the Steelmen’s progress stuttered as the season progressed to prevent Lloyd from contining his early streak. He will however finish the campaign as the second highest scorer in the league with 187 points.
Cross’s eye for a gap and excellent support play has seen him consistently get his name on the try sheet this campaign. There is clear daylight between himself and nearest challenger, Aaron Warren. Cross has 19 tries next to his name while Warren has 12.
Cardiff eventually finished the season top of the table with eight categories being dominated by the the Blue & Blacks.
No 8 Morgan Allen has been a tower of strength all season for Steve Law’s men and he is the only player to have accumulated more than 200 carries in a demanding season. He has 216 carries next to his name, some distance from his nearest challenger, Pontypridd’s Joseph Miles with 195. Allen has also beaten more defenders than any other player in the league.
He leads the way with 62 with his Cardiff teammate Aaron Pinches the next cab off the rank with 56. Pinches has had an industrious season with Cardiff, and figures near the top in two other categories.
Alongside Llanelli’s Tom Phillips, he heads the queue for most dominant tackles with 15, to just edge out Ebbw Vale’s Gethin Williams and Newport duo Elliot Frewen and George Young who all have 14 each.
Pinches has also made 49 counter ruck attempts during the season, a staggering 20 more than nearest challenger, Camarthen Quins’ Sion Jones.
Llandovery’s Stuart Worrall has claimed double success – he has had more ‘post tackle involvements’ than any other player and also made more jackal attempts than anyone else.
Swansea’s Callum Bowden (244) made the most tackles in the league, while Newport’s Ben Roach (39) claimed the most turnovers while Aberavon stalwart Joe Tomalin-Reeves and Cardiff’s Sean Moore attempted 18 choke tackle attempts during the season.
